STROKEPLAY/OPEN REPORT
County 1st team regular was triumphant at Oakmere Park when he won both the Stroke play and the Open Trophy with scores of 66 & 72 to win the Amateur by 3 shots from county junior George Cordell (Worksop) who shot 68 & 73, 3rd spot in the amateur went to Sherwood Forest veteran Ross Overton who shot 74 & 69
Porter from Sherwood Forest edged out professional and defending champion James Freeman by 1 shot.
The best morning round went to last year's champion Jordan Boulton
(Hollinwell) with a 69 and the best afternoon round went to Worksop Jake Scott with a 71.
Cordell picked up the Youth's Trophy to complete a successful day.
On offer was also the team trophy, the winning club with the best 3 combined scores was Sherwood Forest and they will represent Nottinghamshire in the champion club tournament later in the year. The team will consist of Mark Porter (champion), Ross Overton and Dean Reddington who shot two very consistent rounds.

The top 16 amateurs will now go on to play in the match play championship later in June.
